Clint Barnett is the Deputy Chief of Police for the Calera Police Department in Alabama and is their dive team leader and instructor. He is a highly experienced criminal investigator and was instrumental in the development of their Evidence Technician Unit (CSI) and was assigned as a detective in the criminal investigations division for many years before his promotion.

 

Clint was a founding member of the department’s dive unit which was created in 1999 and was assigned as the unit’s first Dive Commander, a position he still holds. His dive team has conducted hundreds of underwater criminal investigations and has assisted local, state and federal law enforcement agencies with various criminal investigations ranging from recovering stolen property to capital murder cases. The Calera dive unit is part of the AMAS (Alabama Mutual Aid System) and was deployed to the Mississippi Gulf Coast during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

 

Clint is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and is certified to teach numerous specialties including Public Safety Diver and Advanced Public Safety Diver. Clint is one of our newest UCI Instructors and was selected for his skills, leadership, and expertise in underwater and land criminal investigations. He holds numerous other certifications to include Hostage Negotiations, interrogations, and interviewing techniques as well as crime scene investigation and forensics.
