Clay Overholt is a Special Agent with the Virginia State Police and is in their General Investigations unit. He is a highly experienced and trains crime scene technician for the state of Virginia and a graduate of the Virginia Department of Forensic Science Academy. He joined the Virginia State Police Search and Recovery Team (SRT) in 1994 and became their assistant team leader in 2002. With his hundreds of underwater criminal investigations as his foundation, along with his forensic expertise, he joined UCI's Instructor ranks and has quickly become a very popular UCI Instructor due to his vast experience and instructor style.
Clay was the Virginia State Police Team leader during the FBI's Anthrax Diving Operation where 9 frozen ponds were searched in the winter of 2002 and 2003. He also led the underwater criminal investigation during the Va. Tech diving operation.
Clay is a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, Emergency First Response Instructor and holds an instructor rating in 11 PADI Specialties including being a PADI Public Safety Diver Instructor. Clay is also a highly experienced and recognized Rope Rescue Instructor Trainer for the State of Virginia.
Clay is the Public Safety Diving Coordinator for Richmond Dive and Travel located in Richmond Virginia.
