MISSION READY

The Spotsylvania County, Virginia, course is sponsored by the Spotsylvania County Fire Department Dive Team, which is made up of highly trained UCI Divers. The classroom is at Spotsylvania Fire House Station 2, 11701 Volunteer Lane, Spotsylvania, VA. All classes start at 0800 each day. That first day of the UCI class is classroom only, no diving. You will be told each day about the agenda and location of the next day's training. All other days involve diving. One hotel recommendation is the Best Western Plus Thornburg Inn & Suites, Woodford, VA (540) 805-5023, but check that area; there are now several hotels to choose from.

What to bring:
 

• Full scuba, drysuit or wetsuit, dive gloves, hood, etc.

• Two tanks

• You can dive with a full face mask or half mask

• Bring a folding camping chair for outside lecture at lake

• Snacks, food, water, hat

• Exposure protection, sunblock, water 

If you are flying in, Richmond International Airport (RIC) is the closest to the training site and easiest to deal with. Notify Mike, and he will try to provide you with tanks and weights
